__ District 7’s International Multicultural Arts Gateway __ More than 30 years ago, Ho Chi Minh City initiated the Phu My Hung South Saigon development project, aiming to become the most attractive international business location in Southeast Asia. While aiming for convenience and diversity with swimming pools, parks, and the presence of two large commercial centers, Crescent Mall and ViVo City, most of the amenities are only accessible to residents living here. The South Saigon community has long lacked specialized cultural and artistic spaces to meet the growing demand as more and more families move here. To solve this problem, BODC proposed an initiative for a new architectural work, with the desire to bring a source of cultural and artistic inspiration right in Phu My Hung, thereby building a vibrant community, nurturing creativity, and connecting generations of multinational residents here. __ INSPIRED BY DISTRICT 7 __ Phu My Hung Cultural - Art Center is inspired by the rustling water coconut forest located between the rivers and ponds that flow peacefully around District 7. The materials used in this project are reminiscent of the unique beauty of the locality: red bricks bring closeness to nature, plus glass materials with a surface that is processed by hand, randomly, intentionally uneven, so that when natural light shines in, the glass surface surrounding the project will simulate the effect of the river surface when there is wind, creating a rhythm of light and spreading. With a total area of up to 7,000 m2, we designed with the highlight being a giant staircase (The Grand Stairs) to connect the functional spaces. __ THE MEETING PLACE OF KNOWLEDGE AND IMAGINATION-THE READING FOREST__ The first area you will encounter on the first floor - The Reading Forest is a modern bookstore with ceiling-high, transparent glass walls to let in light and make the space more open. Each wooden step leading up to the giant book walls is also hollowed out to create more space to arrange books. We calculate to optimize the space as much as possible, helping people in every experience: finding books, sitting and reading books,... but still open and flexible enough for them to organize many cultural events, meetings with authors, to promote community participation and interaction. __A PLACE FULL OF INSPIRATION FOR ART-LOVERS __ CONTEMPORARY EXHIBITION ROOM & WORKSHOP SPACE __ - The 2nd floor is a meeting place for art & creativity. Art collectors from District 7, or from all over Saigon, can register to bring their collection of paintings and works to the exhibition, helping the community to access beauty more easily, contributing to enhancing the love of art in everyone. With a flat and wide space, not being blocked by rough pillars or walls also helps artists and organizers easily arrange art as they wish, depending on each concept. __GATEWAY TO INTERNATIONAL CUISINE __ The 3rd floor is a true cultural “gateway” with a multi-regional culinary area, full of water. When you come here, your eyes will open up to an overwhelming space of delicious food. The design divides the space according to each culinary style, so that you and your friends and relatives can experience the feeling of being on a cruise to explore world cuisine: from Japan, Korea, Thailand, Vietnam to the Mediterranean and Latin regions. __STAR THEATER__ The left side of Phu My Hung Cultural - Art Center is a place that easily attracts the attention of anyone looking in from the outside. As the name suggests - Thousand Stars Theater, this architecture is designed with the ambition to become one of the most modern and impressive theaters in Vietnam, with a ceiling height of 22 meters, 3 floors of seats arranged in a dome structure, ensuring that every seat can fully enjoy the "universe" of perfect light and quality sound system from the Constellation system. __SUNSET BOUTIQUE__ The rooftop of the architectural work is also the end point of the journey walking on The Grand Stairs, which we call "Hoang Hon Boulevard" - a long road like a "bridge" connecting Phu My Hung Cultural - Art Center and Crescent Mall. Where at the end of the road, you can look straight out to the Crescent Lake - one of the most beautiful sunset viewing spots in Saigon.
